Usage: ansible-playbook ~/ggcom/ggcom-ansible-playbooks/pyenv.yml --extra-vars 'target=TARGETHOST user=TARGETHOSTUSER' [OPTIONS]

Options
--tags skipprereq            Skip OS prerequisites, and attempt to install pyenv.

Uses Ansible to install prerequisites for RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian derivatives. After that, installation on target machine and user is carried out.

Versions

  • pyenv install [VERSION]
    • (Hint: you can view available versions for install with pyenv install --list)

Virtual Environments

Information

  • Display current working version:
    • pyenv version
  • Display available versions:
    • pyenv versions

Configure

Local

  • Set Python to use in current directory for user:
    • pyenv local [VERSION/VIRTUALENV]

Global

  • Set Python to use system-wide for user:
    • pyenv global [VERSION/VIRTUALENV]
